wedding1.jpgWeddings are a rite of passage for people no matter what race, religion, or ancestry they belong to. It's a ceremony steeped in centuries of traditions and expectations and as a result can be overwhelming. The key to a successful passage into marriage is finding the people who can facilitate the day as smoothly as possible. This means finding a reputable caterer, DJ, hall, priest/pastor/judge/shaman/etc., photographer, videographer, baker and so on and so forth. It's a daunting task at best.

Stone Creek Studios views each and every wedding as an important event that deserves a lot of care and consideration. Capturing moments that will last a lifetime is no easy task but we rise to the challenge and consider your day as special to us as it is to you.

01. BOOKING
We recommend booking as early as possible. Dates fill up and there's not much we can do if you are getting married on a day that someone else has already paid for. When you lock us in, we request a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold the day. You are welcome to pay for everything up front or in installments leading up to the wedding as well. Anything beyond the inital $100 is refunable. One week before the ceremony, we require 50% of the total cost to be paid. This is also non-refundable. The remaining 50% is to be paid on the day of the ceremony. You do not pay for prints or even choose a print package until after you see your proofs and decide what you actually want.

SAMPLES are available online in our portfolio and you are also welcome to come in to the studio to sit down and meet with us before making any booking decisions. In fact, we encourage this as it gives you a chance to see us and our work and it gives us a chance to get to know you a bit better.

PRICING is available in a GIF file for quick downloading. Click to begin download.

02. REHEARSAL
We will be at your rehearsal and we don't charge for this. We don't photograph it but we might bring a camera along to get an idea of some shots for the actual wedding day. This rehearsal is a good chance for us to be able to go over some shots that would look nice, shots you want, places you'd like to take pictures and all of that sort of thing. We will go over the actual proceedures for wedding photography and videography and do our best to make sure you are aware of what we will be doing and also ensuring that we are fully aware of what YOU want.

During the rehearsal, we will also ask you for a printed or written itinerary of your day so we know who will be where and when. We will also ask you for a 'shot list.' This is a list of shots that you'd be pretty gutted if we didn't get them. We will always do our best to capture everything on your list. Sometimes shots aren't possible but we do try.

The last thing we cover during the rehearsal is the matter of our "contact person." On the actual day of your wedding, as much as we wish we could, we won't know anyone besides the bride and groom usually. Sometimes we get to meet the parents in advance. Sometimes not. So the important thing for us is to have a person who knows a lot of the people you want photographed at the ceremony/reception. The rehearsal gives us a chance to meet this person and talk about what we'll need from them during the actual day. Make sure to have someone all picked out for us and make sure that that person also has a copy of your shot list so that they know who to be looking for. This is also a good person to give the remainder of our payment to so we don't have to come looking for you while you're enjoying time with family and friends.

wedding2.jpg03. THE BIG DAY
Depending on which services you've booked with us, we'll show up at the proper time and place. We'll look nice (but not so nice that we take attention away from the bride!). We'll have our gear polished and ready to go. And then we'll do our best to stay out of the way. Because we use an online photography proofing system, we will also bring "photo cards" to the ceremony and put them out. We'll cover this a bit more in the next section "WHAT NEXT?".

During formal portraits, we kindly request that no other people be taking photographs. There are a lot of ways this can affect our photographs and you ARE paying us for a reason. After formal portraits, we like to take the bride and groom off to take some more candid and intimate portraits without the prying eyes of everyone watching.

If you book us for your reception as well, be aware that we will not be taking photographs while anyone eats. When the meal is served, we use this time to sneak away for a small break of our own. While we appreciate the offers to allow us to eat with you and your guests, we will usually respectfully decline those offers. Your food is always tastier than the sack lunches we bring ourselves but we try to maintain a sense of professionalism. You are already paying us to be there so there is no reason why you should be paying for us to eat as well. Additionally, neither the photographers or assistants we send are allowed to consume any alcohol while at your wedding. Should you choose to invite any of our employees to mingle after they are done working, they are free to do so but alcohol consumption still is not allowed.

wedding3.jpg04. WHAT NEXT?
After the photos have been taken, the reception has wrapped up and everyone is at home (or on a honeymoon!), we will begin the process of editing your photos. This process can take up to 4 weeks depending on our schedule and how many photographs we took at your wedding. Every single photograph goes through the editing process. We adjust the exposures, colors, contrast, sharpness, composition and a great many other things. This is also when our artistic side comes out to play again. Some photos take us a few minutes to edit, some take up to 15 minutes because we find a particularly cool element in it and we must make it as fabulous as it could possibly be.

Once the editing is complete, we upload your pictures online. The website we use is security enabled meaning that only YOU and your guests will be able to see the photos. First, we release the photos to the bride and groom. They will then have the opportunity to mark certain photos as "private", which means that no one else will be able to see those photos once the entire set of photographs is made "public." The bride and groom are in charge of 'releasing' the event to the guests. This means that after they've gone over everything, they click a button and this enables other people who have registered for that wedding to be able to see the photos.

The website we use will generate an automatic email for all guests who are pre-registered to tell them that they can now view the photographs online.

wedding4.jpg05. PURCHASING PRINTS
This website we use also allows people to PURCHASE prints. So the bride and groom don't need to run around collecting orders from people- all the guests can order whatever they want directly from the website. We are aware that some people are not comfortable ordering things online and we encourage them to contact us for other arrangements.

There are a lot of print sizes available online and there are a lot of other products as well- albums, cards (they make GREAT thank you cards!), fine art prints-- you name it! We have a lot of album options available as well. Hardcover, softcover, library-bound, self-mounting. When it comes time to order one, we'll help make sure you get something beautiful designed that will last a lifetime.

The bride and groom themselves may order directly from us. There are certain discounts available from us that are only open to the bride and groom. But guests shouldn't fret about not getting anything good! All guests who pre-register for the website will be given a $5 gift certificate towards their purchase.

Prints ordered from the website are paid for upfront and shipped directly to the purchaser. On average, it takes about 5-10 days to get prints after they are ordered from the website. Prints ordered from us at the studio also need to be paid for up front but will need to be picked up in person. Ordering this way can either be quicker or more time consuming. Smaller orders can be printing in house on our lab quality printers or outsourced to one of two pro labs we use (no we don't send ANYTHING to drug stores for printing- come in and see us and we'll show you the difference between a professional lab print and something you'd get at a mega chain). With small oders, it is no more than 7 days before we have prints ready for you. Larger orders placed directly through us can take up to 10 days.

Albums, cards, posters and other such things take a bit longer to get back to you depending on exactly what you want. When you place your order, we can get you approximate time frames.

Note- if you plan on purchasing directly through us, we ask that you please know exactly what prints you want and have the numbers written down before you come in to see us. The numbers of each photo are available online.
